In parallel with the medium to long term institutional planning, which will often dominate much of the agenda in year 1, is the need to also be preparing the way for the effective delivery of the plan. To do so the need for an effective strategy for implementation is also critical.


As part of this, it may also be important to assess the extent of the institutional culture of innovation. Our work on institutional innovation in higher education provides a range of tools and techniques to help explore this issue. In particular, through the i-lab@HE methodology we can provide ways of clarifying the culture and how different groups perceive how conducive it is to innovation and what the critical enablers and barriers to innovation are.
