The early days’ transition support is largely about providing a space to discuss the initial findings and translate these into a coherent set of priorities for action during the first year of tenure and beyond.


Most new leaders are aware of the need and expectation for ‘swift’ action and are also sceptical of being driven by a ‘first 100 days’ cliff edge by which all change should have been identified.


Balancing on this tightrope is often not easy and some discussion during the first few months to consider the various issues arising can be helpful.
